Hoy en día estamos rodeados de oportunidades para comprobar y practicar nuestros conocimientos de inglés, sea a través de páginas web, foros de internet, series de televisión, revistas etc. Chelsea School of English propone añadir otra dimensión a sus cursos para que puedan participar tanto alumnos nuestros como personas ajenas con ganas de poner a prueba su nivel de inglés y su astucia.
Durante cada curso, colgaremos en nuestra página web unos concursos que propondrán al participante un reto único: utilizar sus conocimientos del idioma para buscar en internet o consultar otras fuentes de información con el fin de encontrar las respuestas a las preguntas complejas que formulemos.
Chelsea 1923 Exhibition
100 years ago the world was a very different place. High technology existed only in the realms of science fiction. There were no mobile phones, no computers, no television sets in people's homes. There were no passenger aeroplanes, and urban transport was still mostly horse-drawn carriages or trams. Only the rich could afford to buy a motor car. The West was recovering from a disastrous war and wanted to have fun. But the seeds were being sown for an even more frightening conflict and the emergence of the nuclear age. The year 1923 was an eventful one. A year of great discoveries and terrible disasters.
Let's travel back in time in the Chelsea Time Machine and be witnesses to some of the most important changes and developments that were to shape the political, social, cultural and scientific movements of the 20th Century. Fasten your seatbelts!
The Chelsea 1923 Calendar Quiz
From now until the end of the year, Chelsea School of English will select important events from the 1923 calendar and invite you to test your knowledge and initiative finding answers to the questions we set and resolving challenging puzzles.
For each of the months selected from the calendar we have designed a poster collating images that tell a story. Each poster is accompanied by a series of questions and, as a complement, a crossword to complete relating to the event depicted in the poster. Every month a new clue will be attached to the crossword. By Christmas we will ask you to submit the completed crossword.
